anotherの訳し方

１）another = one more　「もう一つの」「また．．．」と訳する

　　There was another fire last night.　夕べ、また火事があった。

2) another = also one 「～もまた」と訳する

　　He is an impostor, and his son is another.　彼は山師だ、その息子もまた山師だ。

　　If I am fool, you are another.　俺が馬鹿なら貴様も馬鹿だ。

３）転じて「別の」［変わった」という意味が生じてくる場合がある

　　There is another meaning.　もうひとつ別の意味がある

　　From that time he became another man. その時から彼は生まれ変わったような人間になった。

４）２つのことがある点において似ていながらまったく別であることを言い表すのに、

　　　one thing.....another thing　を用いる
